Thank you for your answer, Webdongle. You mentioned that "Manager" has to be the parent of "Super User". This confuses me since "Public" instead of "Manager" is the parent of "Super User" by default in Joomla5. This user group hierachy screenshot is from another vanilla Joomla 5 where nothing has been changed:You need to undo what you did, User Groups inherit Permissions not Access/View levels. Super Users will loose the inherited Permissions if Manager is not the parent!!!
Then make sure Super Users is selected in 'Registered' user access/view level
https://docs.joomla.org/J3.x:Access_Con ... _and_Doing
Applies to all versions of Joomla
Here is a screenshot of the viewing access levels of the website under study:
This is the default configuarion! I have now learned that access levels should be a completely different category than group permissions. However, identical names are used on default. This seems confusing to me.
Furthermore the screenshot shows that "Super User" has viewing access to the access level named "Registered". Why is it then possible that Super User can't see a menu item with access level "Registered".
This screenshot shows the menu item:
When I am logged in as superuser in the backplane, this menu item ist still hidden.
What am I missing? Do I always have to log in to the front end to see the item? This would be very inconvenient.
Kind regards
